Program Consultation

Program consultation is best suited for individuals, schools, or other organizations looking to develop a new program for clients of any age, or to redesign an already existing program.  Program consultation is a comprehensive service comprised of three broad categories.

 

(1) Program initiation includes:

· Interviews and assessments

· Establishing objectives in the context of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)

· Identifying strategies to meet objectives

· Pertinent trainings

· Implementing objectives

· Establishing a comprehensive schedule to ensure the student has an opportunity to practice skills with a variety of people

(2) Program maintenance includes:

· Monitoring progress

· Data-based decisions

· Regular trainings and team meetings

· Re-evaluating as necessary

(3) Program evaluation includes:

· Data analysis

· Gathering feedback from parents, staff, and clients where appropriate

· Ultimately, determining whether or not program continuation is required, and if so, determine direction

 

Individuals who receive training may include family, administrators, teachers, therapists, etc. 

Topics may include, but are not limited to, the basic principles of behavior, curriculum, data collection, input, and analysis, program material preparation, classroom organization, home therapy-room organization, etc.
